      i was just being facetious, wondered if you liked the word any better with our spelling.
      
      i too have phrases i don't care for. often these are ones with gramatical errors. (don't mind missing capitols though when i was a programmer i'd hear people talking about "deliverables" as a noun. galleries showing a "retrospective" is another.
      
      but i also dislike the word "fancy" as in "do you fancy her ?"
      probably just because it wasn't in my vocabulary when i was younger. there are others.

        hahah! The spelling change makes it no better. One thing I do not "fancy" (sorry for that) are how some words are abbreviated over here. Like, "Lib Dem" and "Veg". Even on the news I hear these abbreviations. I think, Come on, how hard is it to say the whole word?!?

  yeah, but where would british comedy be without the expression "meat and two veg" ?
  
  i hear the youth of britain refer to macdonalds as "macky d's". now that really is stupid, its no easier to say than the original word.
